Newspaper: The Daily Sitka Sentinel is Sitka's local daily newspaper. The paper publishes Monday through Friday, providing local, state and national news. The Sentinel is a member of the Associated Press. The Anchorage Daily News, Seattle Times and New York Times are also delivered daily to shops in Sitka via air service.

Wireless: Alaska Communications Systems (ACS) and Cellular One provide cellular telephone service. Rates for in-state service (state wide) range from $25 to $30 per month for 100 to 150 minutes of time per month.

Telephone: All long distance providers available in the Lower 48 states are available in Sitka. Local phone service is provided by Alaska Communications Systems (ACS) at a rate of $23.30 per month, not including federal, state or local taxes. The local switching gear is digital and monitored locally. Long distance connections are via AT&T microwave to fiber optic cables in Juneau.

Radio & Television: Sitka has two television stations which includes the local access station. GCI Communications Company provides local cable TV service. Stations include KTNL Channel 6 (CBS) and KSCT Channel 5 (NBC). Sitka has four radio stations, which include National Public Radio through our community radio station KCAW 104.7 FM Raven Radio. For- profit stations include KIFW 1230 AM with music from the 50's, 60's and 70's and KSBZ-FM, which has a contemporary format. KRSA-AM Christian radio. Satellite radio and TV are also available.

Internet: Alaska Communications Systems provides Sitkans with dial-up and DSL service while GCI provides cable internet connections.
